Building Assessment

The Protective Services Division (PSD) Threat Management Section conducts physical security building assessments of government owned and leased facilities that house District of Columbia agencies. This assessment addresses the overall security posture of the building based on the presence or absence of security controls in place, as observed.

Building assessments are compiled of finding and making recommendations on:
                                                                                                                                 
•    Fences, bollards, other defensive measures
•    Conduct Risk, Threat, & Vulnerability assessments city wide
•    Cost Benefit Analysis Projections
•    Conduct site surveys
•    Project Management
•    Electronic Countermeasures Monitoring x-ray & metal detectors
•    CCTV implementation & monitoring
•    Emergency generator and emergency power for security systems
•    Personnel Identification Card Activity monitoring  
•    Visitor Management System (VMS) access control policy and screening
•    Key control & chain of custody monitoring
•    Security of Critical Infrastructure Key Resources (CIKR) areas
•    Intrusion Detection System (IDS) coverage and monitoring
•    Building(agency) Emergency Occupant Plan (EOP) and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)
•    Hazardous Mitigation Plan
•    Facility Security Levels (FSL) & Vulnerability Rating
•    Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
•    Security Officer Posting 
•    Security of shipping and receiving (Loading Dock)
•    Security system design and implementation
