Eastern Market Metro Plaza went through significant upgrades during the remodeling project that ended in April 2021. The goal of the improvements was to create a safe and thriving ‘Town Square’ that supports multigenerational social activities for the historic Capitol Hill community. The site is utilized by community members to convene music events and cultural activities. The upgrades included thoughtfully designed seating areas, vibrant landscaping, and enhanced lighting to create an inviting atmosphere for residents. The newly revitalized plaza now serves as a hub for various social activities, from cultural events to outdoor performances and community gatherings.
