The Department of General Services (DGS) has a need to determine the source of and correct the settlement of the soil that has occurred at the west side of the Ballou High School practice field. This shall include at a minimum performing subgrade investigation and identification of a remedy to correct and prevent on-going settlement at the practice field before the 2018 football season begins.

Event Description: With the passage of the Public Facilities Environmental Safety Amendment Act of 2020, DGS has expanded its frequency and scope of testing for environmental risks. This is the fourteenth meeting in a series of monthly meetings to discuss actionable environmental safety testing results and remediation activity at District public buildings. This meeting will provide an overview of our testing process and details about activities at specific locations. You can join the meeting by registering and using the link provided. Topic: Scope – Addition onto the current Barnard ES that will contain 12 classrooms, a Specials Lab and
support spaces for the school. This addition will serve as the replacement to the existing trailer complex
on site. The scope includes a new playfield, a green roof and an intense SWM package with bioretention
ponds and an overall sustainable site.
